We had a bit of a disaster with our first night in Bucharest having booked blind a (very) cheap place on the outskirts of the town in what turned out to be a very sketchy area where my girlfriend felt so unsafe we ended up having to prop a chair under the door handle when we went to bed! I found the Moxa on booking.com and was very pleasently suprised that I was able to reserve a room for less than I would normally pay in the UK for a Travellodge! When we were arrived we didn't really know what to expect as the first place had looked ok but we were impressed from the moment we walked in. The front desk staff were really lovely, helpful, friendly and as a bonus spoke excellent English. The hotel itself is really cute, and luxurious, as you walk through the halls there are lots of impressive reporoduction Van Gogh artwork in huge gilt frames. The hallways were clean and well lit, they had these lovely air freshner plug in things that had a lovely scent (Bucharest can smell a bit 'drainy' in places) even the carpets were really deep and plush. We were in the older of the two buildings reached through the hotels sun lounge where you can sit and drink and smoke. There was a short flight of steps up to the lift and our room was on the 2nd floor with a small balcony overlooking the park on the main street. The rooms itself was air conditioned with controls you could set yourself. The room was a fair size, again very clean with bits to make a brew and a small mini bar. The bed was very comfortable and a good sized and the rooms are pretty well soundproofed. The location is brilliant just on the edge of what appeared to be the more 'upmarket' end of the city from the Boss and Gucci stores we passed. The main road down to town (Cala Victorie?) is pedestrianised on the weekend and leads straight to Old Town and within walking distance of the Palace of Parliament and Museums.

What a fantastic place. We travelled for an event and stayed over just for a couple of days. There was a lot of back and forth for me to do but the way this place is set up and I mean that from the location and amenities to the staff, has taken a huge burden off my shoulders in the sense that if I needed anything, it was provided or already there. The breakfast had everything we needed to get us started (bonus pretty good coffee too!) and our room was, as requested, one of the quietest ones. Their sauna was wonderful and we fitted in a workout in their (albeit small but well-equipped!) fitness room. Moxa has very attentive staff, and, as we arrived at 2 a.m, we were very surprised to see that the receptionist was aware of who we were, what we needed, etc. This means very good communication amongst colleagues, which made for a very smooth transition for us as we had been travelling since 6 a.m the day before and were completely wiped out. The other staff, which we saw for breakfast and around the hotel were so professional and lovely as well. Our room was spotless, and the bed/bedding so, so comfortable. We had slippers, towels, robes and complementary toiletries as well as a sewing kit available, which was such a lovely touch as I feared my event dress might need some mending. So imagine my surprise when I found that small kit in the wardrobe :) We were overall very satisfied with our stay and, following previous not so great experiences with hotels in Bucharest, have decided to only come back to Moxa moving forward. Thank you for all your hard work in keeping the place running, we truly felt not just very comfortable but also welcomed.

Moxa Boutique is by far the best hotel in Bucharest. I stayed in many places in Romanian but Moxa Bucharest rocks. The 2 gentlemen at the front desk are super good, they made me feel special & we became friends for the 4 days I was at Moxa. They were very helpful & went out of their way to make me comfortable including giving me a great room. The GM of the property, Gratiela Badicu, would speak to me & check whether I was fine It all made me feel at home. They have a nice sitout, the bar is open throughout, the rooms are great & spotless. Plus the location is just fantastic. Just a walk away from old town, supermarket, restaurants & the train station. I will definitely be staying at Moxa when I'm back to Romania!

The MOXA hotel is a little gem in Bucharest with an old world vibe and excellent service. There are two parts (the old and the new) and we stayed in the old part, with chandeliers in the bathrooms and copies of old masters paintings everywhere. The courtyard garden is a lovely place to have drinks before dinner and the staff - including Bogdan, Alex & Mihai - couldn't have been more helpful. The manager, Gratiela, greeted us every day (even Sunday!).

Our stay started with a very warm welcoming by the staff which were very polite and professional. This created a very nice feeling considering the fact that it was the first time we were visiting the country. Special thanks to Bogdan at the reception! The location was good. 10 minutes walk to the closest metro station and just 6-10 minutes (depending on the traffic) to the city center by car. Excellent value for money! Would definitely visit again!
